I'm a huge fruit fan, and can derive tons of pleasure from eating most fruits in pristine condition at their peak season.
That said, apples and pears probably excite me the least. Sure they can be great off the tree, but, I prefer a bit more succulence in my fruit.
Bananas are tough because yes, most of the ones we get in the US have no flavor, but, they're a tropical fruit, meant to be eaten in the tropics, and they are really delectable there.
My love of succulence attracts me to melons for some of the most hedonstic fruit-eating, along with peaches and nectarines.
As well as citrus, which I am swimming in right now. Not sure that I have a favorite, although I do appreciate the tart edge, so all kinds of grapefruit, tangelos, and fierce blood oranges are enjoyable..
