You're going to be seeing a whole lot more of Sandra Lee:

I had no idea she was such a success, but I can understand it. I knew she changed her own sets to match her outfits, which I thought so silly, who does that in real life. She is super thin, wears clothes well, and does great styles with her hair, and I guess some would think her pretty. I 'm sure she will go far. Has she passed Rachael Ray?

Like Chef J, I really didn't want to follow the link but some sick impulse made me do it.
What I'd like to know is, who are these throngs of fans the story alludes to? Okay, I know she has to have fans, otherwise she wouldn't still be on the Food Network, but probably everyone I know recoils at the mention of her name.
Hello. My name is Carrie, and I...I....still like oaked Chardonnay. (Please don't judge.)

Isn't she the one who lost her virginity to Vinne Barbarino in Grease?

Close. At least, grease was probably involved when she lost her virginity.... :)

Thanks, sis. But credit must go to Celia who handed out the line. I'm pretty sure she knew what she was doing.... :P

Holy Moly! Curious, I just watched a video of her making maple flavored turkey burgers. She's like an enthusiastic third grade teacher on some weird combination of anti-depressants and ADD drugs. Scary. Is this what it's all come to?

Good for her, she's a success and certainly no fair-minded person would begrudge a commercial success obviously created by thousands of satisfied people/customers. And just like good ol' RR, nobody is compelled to watch her.

Actually, I have no idea who she is. I was just making a play on the name. Is ONJ really your cousin? That explains a lot Mark, I'm sure I saw you in one of the dance sequences in Xanadu... :)

I know you were just joshin', Ce. I was too. ONJ is indeed a distant cousin, related only by marriage through her Nobel Prize-winning grandpappy. (One of my favorite aunts, now deceased, knew her mother quite well in England ["The most beautiful and least intelligent woman in Cambridge"] :D ) I also learned a while ago that Baroness Philippine de Rothschild is my fourth cousin on my father's side, but I somehow doubt that I could presume on the relationship for an entrée to the château

Wonder no more (and since you're a baker, I chose a dessert item for your introduction):

Jenise, that was unbelievable. I couldn't watch it all. I guess they've all looked at the Nigella approach (I once watched a show where she advised people to buy a fruitcake and decorate it with lovely storebought marzipan fruits for that personal touch) and figured if it made her incredibly rich, it could do the same for others.

This is a joke, right? No? I am almost speechless. Kwanzaa?? She is, we all must admit, uniquely qualified to make a Kwanzaa cake of course. Yes? I'd like to think that if I were one who celebrated Kwanzaa I would be insulted. This is a kwanzaa cake beause.....?

What's best is the way she cooks from scratch using local ingredients. mmmmm canned pie filling!

Really. Is this what "cooking" has become in our culture?

Oh dear god. It's like a really bad car wreck. Hideous to the point it's hard to turn away.

The horror...

I was laughing so loud that Pete had to come in and see if I was ok! I loved when she said, "I'm going to use the fancy spray stuff" as she gets plastic cream out of the fridge. Or when she said the butter container was the perfect shape for...shaping butter! Hahahahaha....

Do people in the US really cook like that?
