I think it would not be a good idea. Especially if your meal is much better than theirs, you may give them the impression that you wanted to show them how it is done - better. If you go back and forth to each other's homes for dinner, I'd wait a long while before serving Calamari, and even then make an entirely different presentation.

Well, I haven't had much experience with lawyers lately, the ones we do know are friends and very nice follks. In fact, one lives right across the street, and he and his wife have been great neighbors. Sometimes I don't understand them either, so it's OK if they don't understand what I say!

I didn't need any confirmation in my mind that puns are the lowest form of humor known to mankind but it did help.
