Slow Tuesday POLL: What did you have for breakfast?

by Jenise » Tue Nov 25, 2008 1:43 pm

I'm having mine right now: a cup of creamy pureed mushroom and chive soup with so much white peppper it's hot.

Er... so far? Good and Plenty and a Diet Coke.

Perhaps I need to eat something more Food Like. But, hey, I'm packing to move. There isn't any real food in the house and I don't want to take time to go out. I'm pretty sure anything is allowed under the circumstances.

Absolutely. Packing/moving suspends all the normal rules.

It must be very slow.....leftover steamed broccoli and the last few cubes of baked delicata squash - both at room temp because someone forgot to put them away after dinner...lunch was 3 small clementines-especially good this year

The usual - coffee.

It was supplemented by a few late-morning Jelly Bellies that showed up in the break room.

Grapefruit juice, cheese grits, and a bowl of banana slices and blueberries with a dollop of vanilla yogurt. Later, a short latte made with 2% milk.

Junk food from the hospital vending machines, washed down with Mountain Dew between stints in the ICU. Yummy.

A vegetable/tomato juice with fresh lemon and hot sauce, a Satsuma orange, and 2 baked eggplant slices with home made tomato sauce, light Havarti cheese, and oregano (left over from last night), and some herb tea while I was making a couple of Thanksgiving dishes.

Balanced breakfast- coffee AND tea.

My new favorite coffee is the Peet's Major Dickason's blend. Have you had that one?

New Mexico roasted green chilies mixed with grits made with chicken broth. Laying it over a couple of eggs sunny side up. With fresh flour tortillas.

What's wrong with you people? No mention of even a single bowl of Captain Crunch?

Oh wow, peanut butter Captain Crunch was my all time favorite. If I could eat it and get away with it now I'd do it. I think the sugar withdrawal would take days to recover from.

My somewhat normal breakfast - plain non-fat yogurt with sliced bananas and blueberries. (Sometimes I add some granola and/or a handful of walnuts)
