The weekend kicked off early with Purim taking place Thursday. I enjoyed the Prix Hagafen Brut Cuvee Late Disgorge 2012. It delivers nice yeasty flavors alongside apples and citrus. The Vitkin Grenache Blanc 2016 is pollen laden with the flowery notes of a bouquet of chamomile, dandelion and sunflowers. For reds I had a homemade Cabernet Sauvignon made by my friend Jacob from high end Napa fruit that was very smooth and elegant, alongside a Chateau Remo Grand Blend 2014 a blend, approximately 3 parts to 1, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, that, too, was smooth with mostly earthy notes. The most pungent of the bunch was an 1848 Cabernet Sauvignon 2013.
