TN for Weekend of March 2nd, 2019

This weekend I revisited a wine I had only several weeks ago, the Tzora Judean Hills Red 2012. The succulent red fruit is tempered by shades of eucalyptus and olives and wrapped in biting tannins. Although recognizably a warm climate red, it successfully steers clear of tasting overripe or stewed. The white was the Vitkin Gewurztraminer 2017. Its nose is of lychee and apricot, but its palate is distinctly citrus; think red and white grapefruit, pith, skin and flesh. Interestingly, the wine is at its best within a couple of hours of opening, losing its edge by the following morning, falling flat by Monday. That notwithstanding, it made for very pleasant drinking while it lasted.

Best Regards,
