13% alcohol by volume. Said to be from grapes from one of the Leoville properties. Deep purple color; crimson-purple rim. Viscous. The Merlot in the blend asserts its nature on the nose and palate. Dark fruit adds to its appeal. Some secondary notes of leaves and some cedar. I think it may have been better about 15 months ago at Mo'Cool 2008 but I did enjoy it over three evenings. The first evening it was a good match to broiled tip steak and au gratin potatoes, also sharp Cheddar cheese. Another evening I had it with baked butterfly pork chops.
