Recently, all of our grocery stores simultaneously raised the price of bananas overnight by six cents. Anyone know why? Supply chain disruptions, politics, weather?

This is the trouble with monocultures, which the world's banana plantations just about are.

We are already eating the second-best banana because a variant of TR4 destroyed the best cultivar back in the 1950s.

Makes sense. And I agree with you on the monoculture thing. About 20 main crops around the world?
