This needed an hour plus in the decanter to start strutting its stuff. Color was a fairly uniform dark cherry and the nose featured leather, cedar and a hint of red fruits. Some tannin still present, but this medium bodied wine is smooth and harmonious. Some red fruits and a lift in acidity showed up for the last glasses and the finish hung on and on. A good showing for an off-vintage and drinking well now.
