Duoro.
A blend of Touriga Francesa (40 per cent), Tinta Roriz (40) and Touriga Nacional. The wine is assembled from fruit selected from Quinta De Ervamoria and Quinta Dos Bons Ares.
Good deep color in the glass.
Chocolate and spices on the nose.
Fairly weighty in the mouth, some black cherry, very smoky, charred, peppery, chocolate. The bad news is that the alcohol seemed out of whack and the wine was rather shrill, slightly burning and rough.
It did calm down and smooth out a bit with time, but not enough to make this an enjoyable wine.
Burning and harsh on the finish.
Purchased at $15.95 (Canadian).
