- 2005 Tenuta Uccellina Pagadebit di Romagna Vino Frizzante Libertino - Italy, Emilia-Romagna, Pagadebit di Romagna (7/22/2007)
Ah, another Italian grape (Pagadebit/Bombino Bianco) and another Italian region (Emilia-Romagna) for me. I'm sure one of our Italian experts can pop in with more details, but I can tell you that this lightly bubbled, lightly boozed (11.5%) summer treat is worth searching out. Light, clear yellow. A nose of citrus and peach. It dances lightly on the tongue with a slight drying tug: think very dry Vinho Verde with a few more bubbles and a lot more structure. An excellent dog day's QPR that matches well with Firecracker Shrimp. (84 pts.)

Never tasted it, but you might have guessed that the name 'pagadebit' translates as 'payer of debts' - i.e. a reliable cropper.

"Payer of Debts" could also have a negative spin: what you make to cover your debts, but not what you'd like to make.
I'd buy more, but then I am a fan of Italian whites.
Je ne peux pas le faire
