WTN: E. Guigal Crozes Hermitage 2004

Dark purple in the glass.

Earthy and leathery nose.

Dense in the mouth, smoky, earthy, tart cherry and raspberry fruit, peppery, rather tangy.

A long finish of leather and earth.

Overall the structure was leaner and firmer than I had been expecting. Perhaps it is simply a case of it having been too long since I last had a Crozes Hermitage and I had forgotten what to expect.

What do you pay for this in your area? It's always been a reliable Rhone for me.
Yes, and how many deaths will it take 'til he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

It was a birthday gift, James, but I do see on the LCBO web site that it is listed at $25.95.

That sounds about right. I remember buying it for about $20 US dollars the last time I had it. It may be time to get some more. Thanks for the note.

Could it be youth? We usually pop our Crozes at five or so.

Perhaps.

Or the vintage.

Difficult to know because it all depends on what you were expecting
