WTN: 2000 Vincent Dancer Chassagne-Montrachet "La Grande Borne"

This was a red 1er cru. Lovely wine which could still benefit from a couple more years in the cellar. The ample fruit was towards the cherry/strawberry end of the spectrum; secondary aromas and flavors are just beginning to show. Recorked overnight, the wine developed a bit of a candied fruit nose though the palate still showed plenty of cut.

IME, the Chassagne reds from 2000 are quite good and longer-lived than the vintage's rep would have you expect. Find them where you can; they should be cheap.

I'm guessing most 2000 red Chassagne 1er crus were $25-30 on release, some probably as cheap as the upper teens.
