I bought a bottle of 2003 Baer Winery Ursa Red Wine ($30) to round out a blind tasting of Washington red blends. Specifically, this particular flight was for wines made with grape blends found on the Right Bank of Bordeaux.
This particular wine is a blend of 50% Merlot, 44% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Malbec, and has 14.3% ABV. It has lovely color and good aroma, representative of the large Merlot and Cab Franc components. However, it is simply over-the-top fruity ... sweet tasting, fat, plump and ripe. Definitely not very appealing to most of the tasters.
