2006 Gerard Boulay Sancerre Rose France. $22.99 from Chambers Street. Imported by Polaner, Mount Kisco, NY. This wine looked lovely but had an off putting slight but persistent aroma and taste of sewage. I haven't encountered this aroma and taste in wine before -- I suppose it indicates a lack of cleanliness somewhere along the line. 1*.
I like Lyle Fass's description of this wine, and will try it again.
"From one of the masters of Chavignol this Pinot Noir based rosé is pretty and elegant with a creamy texture and ripe red Pinot fruit. Loads of minerality and crispy acidity give this a crunchy snap."
