WTN: "alouette"

alouette wines - 2005 chardonnay - cuvee inox
middleridge ranch vineyard - Mendocino County
14.2%alc./vol.

Don't let the high alcahol fool you with this balanced beauty! I was astounded after trying it before even looking at the % it carried and was tremendously impressed with the overall tasting experience!

Absolutely profound nose pronounced greatly by pineapple, citrus and honeysuckle with other florals abounding!

On the palate the acid is captivating as it's combined with flavors of lychee, pineapple, citrus tones and vanilla with oak tones that deliver a level of balance and depth that I hardly ever experience with "big" chards.

Finish is long and elegant leaving just enough suspense to keep you going back.

Really enyoyed this one. Next please!

Sorry, JC, I don't know what the retail price is. It was a gift from a friend and, quite frankly, I'm not even sure of it's availability. :( I understand that there was a very limited quantity produced so it could be hard to find. Sounds like a job for wine-searcher.com. If anyone else knows how to get some more I definitely need a case! 8)

Thanks for answering, Aaron. It does sound like it would be hard to find.
