Anura Vineyard, Western Cape.

An interesting blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (37 per cent), Merlot (36), Pinotage (22) and Shiraz (5).

Deep purple color.

Smoke, leather, earth and blood pudding on the nose.

A very "big" wine, tarry, black licorice, soft in the mouth, very smoky, tangy, fleshy black cherry, blood pudding, a little tingly on the tongue.

What I call a great "stinky" wine: loads of earth, barnyard and leather. This is also the sort of wine that would polarize people into those who hate it and those who love it.

With time, the wine lost some of its softness and fleshy fruit and the structure became leaner, although it retained its intense flavours and smokiness.

An incredibly long finish, smoky and earthy.

Sounds quite intriguing!
