I guess you're preparing to start talking.. Just as we're preparing to go out for dinner (plans made beyond my control and all)..

Good luck and I trust that whoever defends the Purity of the Monocepage wine will do so well in my honor..

Jenise and I both jumped in, Rahsaan. We couldn't work up too much of an argument, but we did touch on a lot of single/multiple-varietal trivia, including some talk about Bordeaux, Chianti and Chateaneuf-du-Pape and some praise for Thackery Pleiades on the pro-blend side, and some talk about the purity and transparency of Pinot Noir and Riesling on the monocepage side.

Monocepage wines are overrated, at least in the idea that they are inherently superior.

Taste the wine then judge.

Just listened, was interesting.

Early on there were some harsh words said for the New World cabernet/syrah blend, but isn't that a fairly traditional blend in Provence? If I remember at least going back 100 years?

Trevallon does it, but I don't think they've been around for a century, have they? I'm sure it's done, but not certain I'd call it commonplace, although in fairness, it's surprising how little Provence red gets over here, other than Trevallon (pricey), Mas de Gourgonnier (spottily distributed) and various Bandols.
