Domaine du Pavillon, Côte Roannaise, 2005 Simple glugable gamay-based drinking device. Sweet and filling with touch of iodine/medicine chest to ensure its authenticity. B. 10$

Domaine de Châtenoy, Menetou-Salon, 2004 Someone tell me this isn't chenin blanc, because that's exactly the profile it has. Chalk-filled lime solution, some light field flavors with a linden flower finish. Has a feeling of slight dillution about it, with a short finish. Rather simplish, but still good. Drink now. B-B+
Clos des Papes, Chateauneuf-du-Pape, 1999 Very light, almost see-through paper transparent brick-filled red. Plum brandy, old cherry, prune, mature aromas on this very subtle nose. Faded sour cherry & prune, barnyard funk, with lots of tertiary flavors coming through. A slight chill and further air time make this quite enjoyable, with the flavors intensifying and becoming a bit more attractive. Very old school style, hiding its 14% alcohol in well-worn foudres. B+/A-

Bründlmayer, Kamptaler Terrassen, Grüner Veltliner,2002
Color a dull clean gold with bronzish glint. Clove-scented baked ham, white peppercorn and baked green bean caserole aromas, which pretty much echo on the palate, with a taste of ham broth and Vernors® pop finish (you Midwesterners will know what I mean). Better than a recent bottle from 2 months ago. Capped under le plastique. Drink up. B+
