Odd Winery Contact Site Disclaimer

by Sam Platt » Mon Jun 04, 2007 1:06 pm

I was attempting to contact a producer in Burgundy through their "contact" feature when I found this disclaimer in bold font. It is copied verbatim:

"All requests made through this page will not be answered. Thank you. "

I hope that something got lost in the translation. Any thoughts?

I believe the website's Public Relations Officer and Communications Specialist wrote that, Sam. Some guy named Major Major.

Dujac has something like that Sam. But the site gives their reason:

Please note! Demands for tastings and appointments should be made by fax. All requests made through this page will not be answered. Thank you.

Bob,

That's where it came from. I was going to ask about drinking window for their '96 Echezeaux. I wasn't trying to present the line out of context, but I thought the bit about the tasting and the requests were not related. I took "request" to mean "questions asked". I write and see if they respond.

Thanks,
Sam

Ah, I see Sam. Interesting point -- thanks for explaining.

I read it again, Sam -- I think they mean that you have to fax for appointments and tastings, but by implication they will respond to other queries through the contact email address. I'd give it a shot.

Regards, Bob
