Finally opened this after trying a couple of reds (Mark West PN from a 1/3 full bottle that had been in the fridge for about 5 days and not only smelled like candied yams but also tasted of potatoes, and an ESJ "The Shadow" which I think I would like on another kind of day but it's too freakin' hot in my apartment because I'm too cheap to run my AC because I'm saving all my money to buy wine).

This was a super-cheap wine from Whole Foods ($5.99), and I wasn't expecting much but I'm pleasantly surprised. Really nice peachy/floral notes upon opening. Very dry, kind of fizzy, lemon and underripe melon taste. Not complex, no finish to speak of, but it's just what was needed to cut the heat and motivate me to unpack some boxes. Could easily see this with shellfish.
