1999 Chateau La Grâce Dieu SCEA Pauty Libournais Saint Emilion Grand Cru Bordeaux France. Chambers Street; Lyle/Asimov bottle. $19.99. 12.5% alcohol. Imported by Wines of France, Mountainside NJ. Merlot 80% - Cabernet Franc 10% - Cabernet Sauvignon 10%.

Deep ruby red color, deep hue, good to very good fruit, cherries, chocolate and coffee aroma, very good fruit taste with earth, chocolate and spice notes, a bit oaky, but well balanced fruit, acidity and mild tannins, interesting and fairly long finish -- chocolate and cherry notes. Very pleasant sipping wine -- my guess it won't hold up much longer, but it is very pretty now. 3*+

Notes: This wine was tough to research -- there are wineries with similar names called Chateau La Grâce Les Menuts and Chateau La Grâce des Prieurs, and perhaps others. Of course, this is a St.-Emilion-Grand-Cru and not the rarer and much more expensive St.-Emilion-Grand-Cru-Classé. A very nice wine, especially at this price, nonetheless.

Regards, Bob
