WTN: 2004 Casa Silva Viognier, LOLOL Estate, Colchagua Valley Chile
I've had a few wines by Casa Silva in the past and none of them did much for me. Plus, who the hell makes Viognier in Chile that is worth much. So, I was reconciled to sipping and spitting this at a recent store tasting. Well, I was wrong. This a nice bottle of Viognier. Vaietally correct, with bright/vibrant aromatics, medium bodied with viscosity, plus stone fruits and enough refrehing acidity to keep it from becoming flabby. The finish exhibits just a tiny bit more oak than I'd like, but overall I'd buy this again at the $21 offering price. I need to try this with food.

I've had a few decent wines from Cono Sur and their top Viognier is pretty good too. Not seen the Casa Silva wines down this way.
