WTN: Graham Beck "Railroad Red" Shiraz-Cabernet 2005

Western Cape.

A wine for real pyromaniacs!!

Charred, heavily burned wood notes on the nose.

Roasted, slightly bitter, cherry fruit, tart, somewhat medicinal, smoky, red licorice and peppery. With time, the wine did expand a bit, becoming fuller and rounder, but it retained tartness and the overwhelming burned wood notes.

A drying finish, with spices and cherry fruit.

A very strange wine that I can't really say I enjoyed.

Bruce,

I had the same experience, but you were able to describe it much better than I. Thank you for a very accurate TN!

CHEERS!
