Bairrada.
90 per cent Baga, with no indication on the label as to what makes up the remaining 10 per cent.
Spicy, with chocolate on the nose.
Light to medium weight, smooth in the mouth, rich, dark chocolate-covered cherries, some raspberry, lightly perfumed, tobacco, a nice bitter edge, with tangy acidity toward the finish.
A good wine for hearty dishes (served this with spaghetti) and it went quite well.
A good buy at $14.95 (Canadian).
