These are notes I've forgotten to post. My apologies if my memory fails me and some are posted already.
1998 Château Bouscassé Madiran
This has a rather lovely nose: blue flowers, meat, cassis - typical Madiran, in other words. The palate is nicely extracted and is refreshing but the tannins do require more age to integrate to the lovely fruit. Long and refreshing. A promising young Madiran, but not a good idea to open now.
2004 Josmeyer Riesling Hengst
Pure, mineral, transparent, refreshing, elegant and typical. Rather a lovely drop.
2006 L'Ormarins Sauvignon Blanc(Paarl, Franschhoek Valley)
A very ripe and tropical/passionfruit nose with all the typical SB notes of gooseberry and blackcurrant leaf. The palate is rather soft and abundantly fruity, with only adequate acidity, but fine length anyway. Adequate.
2005 Vergelegen Vin de Florence (Stellenbosch)
A nose of hay and ripe citrus. Though apparently off-dry, the acidity makes it taste dry, but ripely fruity. Simple, but balanced and thoroughly enjoyable on a hot day by the Indian Ocean!
2006 Boschendal Blanc de Noir
Full bodied and rather confected though fully dry. Though somewhat redeemed by a fresh and acidic aftertaste, this still wasn't my cup of tea.
2003 Buitenverwachting Buiten Blanc
A simple if pleasant little wine: fair acidity, seemingly a touch of oak on the nose, but none noticable on the palate. Abundant, warm fruit. Fair.
2005 Klein Constantia Riesling
A very petrolly nose, very ripe fruit, but also a touch of minerals. Full bodied, nicely acidic. A very fair representation of the grape. I like it.
2003 Chanson Côte de Beaune-Villages
Life according to Thomas Hobbes.
