WTN: 05 Clos des Allees - Electric Avenue

Most of you may already know this, but the 2005 Luneau Papin Clos des Allees is seriously good wine.

Just opening and drinking it has such firm focused electric energy.

But then it climbed even higher heights with our dinner of zucchini, carrot, tarragon, cilantro and ginger pancakes along with roasted potatoes and salad. I didn't plan things in too much detail to match with the wine, but somehow my subliminal instincts must just be on fire (or more accurately I must have gotten lucky) because the textural and flavor marriage with the meal was pure joy.

It's a ripe year Muscadet, but so focused, so fresh, so energetic yet so composed, so so lovely.

You know what to do now.

Hoy!

We gonna rock down to Electric Avenue

And then we'll take it higher...

(And drink some Luneau Papin)

Just opened a bottle of it tonight with some shrimp stir-fried with assorted veggies in black a black bean-garlic-ginger concoction. Yes, indeedy, it's a mighty fine wine. More about apples than I typically encounter in Muscadet, and plenty ripe, but still zippy, fresh and altogether fun.

Huh. Never thought about that apple connection, but I can potentially see it. Will think about it if I ever get around to drinking another bottle (which I should)..
