2001 Josmeyer “Le Dragon” Riesling (Alsace) Big petrol, white fruit nose, a bit of mid-palate heft, and a clean, precise, crisp finish. I’d get more of this and age it for a couple more years.

2006 Edmunds St. John Pinot Gris Witters Vineyard (El Dorado County) I’m in constant amazement at the quality of grapes that Steve gets his hands on and the way he can coax the best out of them. This wine is no different in that respect. Lightly smoked ripe pears, a rich mouthfeel balanced with most excellent acidity, and a spicy, fruity, bitter citrus finish that is complex enough to slow me down from taking the next sip. Love the screwcap. Went really well with pork cutlet rolled with proscuitto, fontina, and sage w/sauteed zucchini.
