WTN: d'Arenberg "The Footbolt" Shiraz 2002

McLaren Vale.

Dark purple in the glass.

Chocolate and spicy on the nose.

Rich, soft and warming, cherry fruit, peppery, spicy, with some acidity toward the end. With time it developed some green-veggy notes.

An okay wine.

I enjoyed my last bottle of this wine a bit more.... perhaps it was an off bottle? No veggie nose in my case, and I find this wine to be a good performer in its price class.

I agree, I think it was a bit off, but quite enjoyable despite that.
