Wow! A gorgeous and elegant wine made in more of an international style, yet balanced, refined, with a very long finish. What a delight to enjoy with my whole wheat spaghetti with spicy tomato/spinach/Canadian bacon sauce.

Deep and intense ruby color with purple highlights. A waft of anise/French oak greeted me as I took my first sniff, but not in a negative way; soon after, lots of ripe raspberry and "fruitt di boschi" (mixed wild berries), but still elegant. On the palate it was soft and full of milk chocolate, with a very long ripe raspberry finish with noticeable tamed tannins - probably one of the longest lingering on the palate I have experienced recently. This wine is a blend of merlot with refosco dal peduncolo rosso. There is no doubt this wine would please both traditional and modern palates. Yum!
