So I have been embarrassed by another post into writing up some TNs, thin as they may be. A couple of recent drinks with ribeye steaks. Both of these wines sat in the cellar for a while.
2001 Montoya Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. 13.5% abv, $14 in January, 2005. I tasted this wine back then but don't remember much. Nowadays, whatever tannins were there are almost gone and the wine drank very well.
2002 Chateau Lagrange "Les Fiefs de Lagrange," Saint-Julien, France. 13% abv, imported by Vintner Select, $20 in June, 2005. Nose of mud, pencil shavings, and blackberries. Nicely balanced on the palate, fruit, acidity, and mild tannins.
Cindy and I enjoyed both these wines and certainly wished we had more.
