WTN: Saxenburg "Guineau Fowl" Chenin Blanc-Viognier 2005

Stellenbosch. An 86-14 blend.

Medium-dark yellow.

A delicate nose, with spices and light orange fruit.

Fairly intense tangerine and peach, peppery, rather tangy, crisp acidity, moderately thick and weighty, creamy, drying toward the end.

Some grapefruit rind on the mouthwatering finish.

Yet another white wine that benefits greatly from being consumed slightly warmer, gaining weight and complexity as it warmed during the course of the meal.

Purchased at $14.95 (Canadian).
