TNR: Peconic Bay 2002 - Long Island, NY

Looking for experiences, TNs on this 100% Cabernet Franc from Long Island.... anybody familiar with it?

Not me! I hope someone else is able to respond to your note--but it may be a tough one. From what I understand, production is very low there, and I know that Long Island wines are fairly nonexistent outside of their immediate locale. I never, ever, ever see them on the west coast.

Cab Franc is rapidly becoming a key variety on Long Island as a stand alone or dominate player. Alex did you try to make contact with the winery, not sure if they would ship to Argentina though. Here’s there website

BTW do you see any Laurel Lake Vineyards wines in Argentina? Laurel Lake also located on the North Fork of Long Island is owned by a group of businessmen from Argentina. They too produce a nice Cab Franc.

According to the website, its owned by Chilean investors, not Argentine.

Opps! Sorry Alex you’re absolutely correct the owners of Laurel Lake Vineyards are Chilean investors. They still produce a nice Cab Franc!

The tasting room situation on Eastern Long Island is somewhat different than what we usually encounter. They typically sell two or three once tastes for $3-$5. The upside of this is that in good weather there is a combo on the patio, and snacks. So if you pick your tastes carefully, you can make an afternoon of it.
