1990 Alfred Gratien Champagne - France, Champagne (4/8/2007)
One of the more "wine-y" Champagnes I have tried in a while, the 1990 Alfred Gratien showed notes of baked apple, white flowers, honey, toast and almonds. Gentle bubbles and multi-faceted flavors incorporating deep apple, cherry and baking spices. The finish is long and spicy. Very well made Champagne that is at peak right now.

Oh, yeah! A wonderful Champagne! Amazingly enough, there is still some of it on the market, for as little as $60 a bottle. This has got to be one of the great Champagne bargains of all time...
