Think I will be opening a Chianti or two for this month`s Wine Focus. The Trianna will hopefully hit the spot! Also a Gunderloch Jean Baptiste Riesling Kab. when the visitors come a-knocking.

ooooh, I forgot whichever wine Bob Ross has me open as I lost the curling wager. Mouton Cadet Red???!!!!!!

We're bringing a PS for the lamb, and a Pinot for the ham.

I can't tell because we are going to have Two Noland Brothers blind tastings this weekend. If I reveal my wines, one or both brothers might find out. Stay tuned to this board as they will be revealed in good time, however.

An upscale Bordeaux with some age on it. I'm making a brisket of beef with all the usual Polish suspects in attendance.

A Dry Creek Zin or a Sierra Foothills Syrah. It is going to be lamb for sure.

Thank you Bob. I am in Reno, NV. I had trouble logging in with my previous ID, but with Robin's help I am back once again.

Probably going to a bourdeaux I bought.
I can certainly see that you know your wine. Most of the guests who stay here wouldn't know the difference between Bordeaux and Claret.

Probably a Nuits-St-Georges "Murgers." I don't recall which producer. I will be dining on ham and au gratin potatoes or German-style potato salad.

Tonight is an NV Rene Geoffroy champers, 2001 Clape Cornas, and a couple other N. Rhone goodies.

Last night was a bakers dozen of rieslings.

I dont know what I'm bringing for Easter yet. Probably more riesling.

I always make a grilled leg of lamb on Easter...so we will have CdP. I have a 2004 Vieux Telegraphe we will probably open.

I think it'll be a Riesling from der vaterland. I've been eyeing some of the 2001 Donnhof Kabs, but think I'll let them rest just a bit longer. But, I also don't have much willpower, so they just might take a hit this weekend.
It's Easter weekend and now that I'm not longer an ITB wine pusher, I won't be answering "What wine do you suggest with Ham?" 800 times today. Well maybe I miss it just a bit.
I'm heading down to the shop in a few hours to celebrate a former colleague's last day on the job. I hope they open some good stuff for his send-off.

Certainly Champagne to greet the day........

Dinner is going to be lasagna, so I'm not sure yet what I'll open. Nothing too serious as it just gets buried under the cheese and sauce.
Truth be told, I like Montepulciano d'Abruzzi with this meal, and lots of it!

Well I see the wine of the month choice has gone to the more predictable Chianti, but I shall forge ahead with Valpolicella!

To accompany our roast leg of lamb we'll be popping 2 Valpolicella Superiores, the 1997 Quintarelli Valpolicella Superiore and a 1998 Trabucchi VS single vineyard from the Terre Del Cereolo vineyard. The Trabucchi is vinified from grapes that are dried on straw mats until they lose 25% of their weight and then put in barriques for 20 months before bottling. I believe the Quintarelli receives similar treatment, should be some real fine vino!

I was thinking of decanting these wines an hour before dinner. Has anyone had any experience with either of these vinos?

We're lamb for Easter folks too. So I'm looking at our 2003 Gorman Winery "The Pixie" Red Mountain syrah.

No Tom, it's a Washington wine. My husband's daughter sent us a case of Washington/Oregon wines from my favorite Seattle retailer for our Christmas present. We are very lucky to have this source for things that we just can't get anymore. And as a gift!

Living in the boonies in Michigan, I really miss Washington syrahs :(

Interesting, I've never had a Washington syrah, now I'll have to find one and give it a try!

Aren't there wines produced in Michigan Laura? I seem to remember reading that, if so have you had them and are they any good? Tom V
