2005 Rusden Stockade Shiraz Barossa Valley Australia. Endless Vines, Franklin Lakes, $8.50 a glass. 14% alcohol.

Deep purple color, deep hue, good aroma of berries and spice with a smoky tinge; good fruit, berry spice and smoke tastes, medium mouth feel, light oak, medium tannins, firm acidity, a bit out of balance, long berry finish with a sense of acidity which I found off putting -- it didn't go away with swirling or over a half hour in the glass. Otherwise, would have been quite a nice wine. 2*+.
