WTN: Penfolds Bin 389 1998

The poor man's Grange - although at the prices this goes for nowadays, no poor man can afford this. This is really showing its age now. Brick, prune and tamarind nose. Still some slightly overripe fruit notes together with tea and dried herbs on the palate, but no longer vibrant and fresh. Decent length. Clearly past its best. Second to the last bottle of a case I bought upon release. It was good while it lasted. Do not decant, and drink up soon.

I have some 2000 I should get into - now sells for ~$100 Can.

(And a 4 bb vertical of 707 from 1991 - 1994 - darned stuff sells here for $100 +)
