WTN: Some weekend wines

2021 Beau Vigne Icon Napa Valley Red Blend
Two years ago this was all red fruit and milk chocolate. Now it's black fruit and dust. And it drinks well, but it's clearly a work in progress and will reward further cellaring.

2013 Woodward Canyon Cabernet Sauvignon Old Vines Washington
Not prune-y, but richer/heavier/more saturated/lower acidity than expected based on a bottle exactly one year ago. A retaste on day 2 surprisingly showed improvement, so it's not on its way to the gallows.

One of the few (only?) German producers to use new oak on riesling.

Ha, really? It tasted like American oak, which I said at the time to the friend who opened it (at the end of the Dorks' rose tasting described in another post). But as I said it I was thinking, "but they wouldn't do that." And maybe it's Hungarian or something else, though it doesn't really matter which kind--it was not good.
