  Extra brut, so a touch less austere than some Pere Mata wines, there’s a distinct berry fruit note alongside a crisp, saline backbone. It’s really quite amazing when you consider it costs $16!

Anyway, I was going to say that you're really making me think twice about Cava, which I tend to dismiss without fair consideration. I wonder if I can find this one around here.

Sounds good. I don't think I've had Pere Mata, though I've liked cava from a different Mata (Augusti Torelli)
I generally like cava more than other under $20 bubblies like Prosecco, Cremant de Loire/Alsace, etc

Me too Dale. I have a Prosecco from Lyle that I hope is at least mildly interesting.

I was just thinking about the prosecco comparison and thinking that, with relatively few exceptions, Prosecco is pretty forgettable. I might be a harder sell on Cava vs Cremant, though: I'm a pretty big fan of that French not-Champagne.

Just checked locally and the only seller is (an admittedly fancy wine bar/shop place) asking $34 for the l'Origen and $35 for the Trepat Rose.
