1999 Domaine du Cayron Gigondas - went looking for a wine to spend the evening with and came across this one - only two bottles left and a wine I hadn't thought of for quite awhile. They only produce the one wine and it is 70% grenache along with whatever syrah, cinsault, and mourvèdre pleases them in a given vintage. Still quite dark, and with a pleasant nose of anise, black pepper and garrigue, perhaps a tad rustic but that can be a good thing. Still in quite good shape, probably due to my cellaring conditions as I checked other reviews of bottles presumably not as well cellared which showed significantly more aging. I'll schedule the last bottle some time later this year.
