We had these two Rieslings at our Pig+Fig tasting ystrday:
1. Vivac Riesling; Dixon, NM; 2021; 13% abv; : Med.light yellow color; attractive pineapplr/mango/R bit stony/mineral quite pleasant R nose; fairly lightweight near dry attractive mango/R/pineapple fairly stony flavor; very long light mango/R finish; not a profound R but one of the better NM R I've had; reminds more of Sudtirol R than of German R. $32?; (MR)

2. St.Urbans-hof Ockfener Bockstein Riesling Kabinett QmP (9.0%; A.P.Nr 3 529 290 012

Weis/Liewen 2006: Med.dark gold color; very strong Mosel/R rather pungent/smokey Mosel valve oil/gout de petrol very complex mature Mosel R nose; fairly near-dry very rich/lush very strong Mosel R/valve oil pungent smokey some floral/mango/R very complex flavor; very long/lingering rather rich/lush Mosel R finish; a beautiful example of a mature Mosel R.

1. The Mosel R was a very impressive wine. It had a lot of rich/lush texture for a 20 yr old Mosel Kabinett. It was showing a nice degree of complexity but still seemed a bit on the youthful side. I expect it will go out another 10 yrs at least.
