No wine Monday with BBQ chicken, squash, and salad

Flannery strip, baked potato, broccoli rabe
2022 Extradimensional Yeah! Brosseau Vineyard Syrah
Red fruited (raspberry), crunchy, herbs and smoke. Bright and light, fairly glou glou. B/B+

Takeout Pizza -margherita and norma (eggplant)
2006 Produttori di Barbaresco Barbaresco (lot 099)
Not one of the ones with Riserva juice, but in fine form. Cherry, dried cherry, rose petals. Tannins mostly resolved, drinking well now. B/B+

Pork bulgogi, king trumpet mushrooms, Chinese mustard greens, rice with nori
2024 Tiberio Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo
Classic and classy. Crunchy cranberry, thyme, underbrush. So food versatile, handles the bulgogi spice perfectly.B++

Teriyaki salmon, soba with dipping sauce (and grated daikon, scallions, wasabi), leftover mustard greens
2021 Thomas Fogarty Chardonnay (Santa Cruz)
Fresh honeydew and pear, a touch of oak, rich. Not so long, but satisfying CA Chard. B

I’m writing up Saturday’s Chambers Street party separately.

A storm Sat night left Sunday cooler and gorgeous. We had friends over for dinner on the patio.

Radishes with butter or radish leaf pesto
Ployez-Jacquemart Extra Quality Champagne (375 ml) Dec 2025 DG
Apple, lemon, fresh baked croissant, hint of vanilla. Fine mousse, nice chalky finish.B+

Oysters with ramp mignonette and then sauteed scallops
2022 Pepiere Clisson Muscadet
Bright and elegant, pear, oystershell, and buttermilk biscuit. Classic, saline, long. A-

Flannery hanger, potato salad, spinach., and green/citrus salad
1979 Ch de Sales (Pomerol)
Typical 1979 profile- bright acids, resolved tannins. Black plum, leather, and mushrooms. Drinking well, pleased our claret loving guest, Not complex but tasty. B+

Finished with the first strawberries of the season (with whipped cream for those inclined(

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was the only choice. Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.

I'd like to try one of the lots with lots of Riserva next to the normal normale. :)
Only this wrong with this evening we had decided we wanted the meatballs and the Norma. They were out of the Balls, so we ordered the Roni Roni Roni.

But ended up with Norma and Margherita. I just hope whoever ended up with our pepperoni wasn't a vegetarian.
