Recent portugese dinner.

Recent visit to a very good Portuguese restaurant...Bodega here in town. On Tuesdays, 3 free appetisers with each bottle of wine which are selected for $48 Cdn . 9 wines on a blackboard..6 white, 3 reds.

2024 Alba Vega Albarino, Rias Baixas.

Clear yellow colour, nose of orange blossoms lemon curd lime and peach. Good minerality here, saline on the palate. crisp and refreshing, v good acidity. Will seek one out downtown.

2024 Adega de Moncao Vinho Verde Muralhas de Moncao.

The 2022 I have posted on before was a much better wine. This was more easy drinking with little vinho verde to characterise the sensation. Nice and fresh but lacked complexity espec. on the finish.

Food for both wines were olives, boar cheeks in red wine, brussel sprouts tossed in nut free romesco. Both delicious.

Indeed a nice deal.
Recently I was saying that Albarino is one of the safest white choices if you don't know actual wine.

Dale, I agree with that.
