1991 Flora Springs Trilogy - a blend of Cab sauv, cab franc and merlot (in varying proportions), I wondered if it would have held up for 35 years - it had of course lost some of the youthful fruit, but presented a very creditable mature wine with adequate fruit levels, and it had lost the slightly excessive wood I recalled and presented much closer to a claret than it had in youth. Good balance and length - it exceeded expectations. The use of 50% French oak would make it less easy to determine whether it was new world or old when blind tasting.
