- 1997 Beringer Vineyards Merlot Bancroft Ranch - USA, California, Napa Valley, Howell Mountain (4/18/2026)
Still retains a lot of fruit, and there’s nothing overripe/overdone about it. Given the rep of the vintage I expected something richer or glossier, but it was well balanced and reminded me more of the early 1990s renditions of this wine than the horrific monster truck versions from the early 2000s.
