WTN: Mistaken Identity

2024 Schäfer-Fröhlich Bockenauer Felseneck Riesling Spätlese Goldkapsel - Germany, Nahe (4/16/2026)
Interesting bottle of wine that surprised me. I was expecting a bit more richness, but instead there was a sprightly nature to the wine, as if a Kabinett dressed up in Spätlese Gold Cap clothes. The flavor profile did not display any element of botrytis, so this seems to be a Spätlese GK that happens to cosplay as Kabinett. That's not really a bad thing!
