Tried this wine over the last few days:
1. Pelletiere Estate Lagrein WillowCreek Dist/PasoRobles (14.8%; www.Pelletiere.com) PasoRobles 2014:Very dark color w/ little bricking; strong plummy/blackberry/black cherry slight earthy/loamy distinctly Lagrein light pencilly/oak very slight cedary/pencilly/oldRed some PR/jammy quite attractive nose; rather soft slight tangy/metallic rather plummy/Lagrein bit earthy/metallic distinctly Lagrein flavor w/ light gentle tannins; very long plummy/Lagrein finish that mocks flavor; speaks strongly of Lagrein like AltoAdige but much richer/lusher; very strong PR/grapey/plummy/bit jammy in character; shows little signs of its age but probably near its peak; quite a nice expression of Lagrein.

More skittlebarf from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. Lagrein is a grape found mostly in the South Tyrol of the AltoAdige. It is a descendant of Teroldego. Seems like a grape well suited to PasoRobles.
