WTN: Two Whites...(short/boring)

Tasted these wines over the last few days:
1. Cantina di Tortona Piccolo Derthona Bianco (13.5%; Timorasso; Matchvino/Sharon/CT) Cantina di Tortona/Tortona 2024: Light gold color; somewhat earthy/stony/chalky lightly floral/Timo/carnations slight steely fairly pleasant nose; quite tart/lean rather stony/chalky/mineral/steely very light Timo/carnations rather light flavor; med.long steely/chalky finish that tracks flavor; still a very primary/quiet expression of Timo; should put on weight & become much more fragrant; more like a Petite Chablis or an Aligote right now. $21.00 (KK)

2. Qupe Roussanne BienNacido Hillside Estate/SantaMariaVlly (14.5%; EB) Robert N. Lindquist/SantaMaria 2006: Deep gold color; very strong hazelnuts/toasted hazelnuts some appley/floral/Rouss rather smokey/nutty/graham crackers quite old white Rhonish beautiful nose; big rich/lush quite nutty/toasted hazelnuts/smokeyy bit floral/Rouss/graham crackers lightly tart slight oxidative/bitter quite complex flavorch more attractive a cool room temps & much less bitter; loads of smokey/oak/tobaccoy/graham crackers but has lost a lot of the Rhone floral Rouss fruit; resembles some a 30 yr old Rayas Blanc; an interesting/complex Rhone Blanc but the bitterness is a bit obtrusive.

More creckleperk from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. I was a bit disappointed in the Qupe. It had all the hallmarks of an old Rhone white but the slightly oxidative and the strong bitterness was a bit obtrusive. Several nights in the open btl only made the wine less attractive.
