Tried this wine last night:
1. Bucklin OldHillRanch Ancient Grenache (15.8%; 130 yr old Greache vines; 80 cs) Sonoma 2022: Med.dark color; very fragrant strawberry/Grenache/plummy rather dusty/OV light earthy/rustic fairly pencilly/oak slight smokey rather complex very attractive nose; fairly soft bit alcoholic/hot strong strawberry/Grenache/restrained quite dusty/OV complex flavor w/ modest chewey tannins; very long strong Grenache finish that mocks flavor; fairly structured & a bit on the rough/rustic side; reminds some of the OV Ridge Grenache but not as oaked & elegant; resembles a lot of a Priorat OV Grenache more than anything but not as extracted; still needs 3-7 yrs yet; not a fruit-bomb Grenache at all; a very interesting expression of OV Grenache.

More bicklefurt from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. Next week at Laura's Beef&Leaf, we will taste a lineup of OldHillRanch wines. Leading our discussion will be co-owner Ted Bucklin, who now lives here in NM. Should be a fun event.
