1999 Patrick Lesec Cornas Cuvée Sarah - I've been weeding out some of the older wines in the cellar that may have dubious ageability and this was next up. It was rather interesting - having lost the youthful purple tinge to the colour, it was mid red. When we tasted it, it was initially showing slightly assertive acidity and not as much fruit as I'd have liked, but over the next hour it changed considerably, no doubt due to an oxidation reaction. It lost the slightly acidic edge and rounded out and became a much more attractive wine. We have a Northern Rhone themed lunch coming up, so we'll see if any other wines show this development.

I've owned a few Lesecs in the past and found them thin and acidic. Would not buy this producer again based on those.

Agree - that's why I wanted to try one - was please when it opened up and improved rather than just sliding. I have some of their CNduP as well so will put them on my to-be-tried list.
